The exoplanet, named K2-288Bb, could either be a rocky world like Earth or a gas-rich planet like Neptune.
Neptune is not mentioned or evidenced anywhere else in the article.
Neptune would not survive in the habitable zone as gas-rich
Neptune is 17x the mass and 50+ x the volume of Earth

Sure officer, I got a good look at him...between 3' and 9' tall, 120 to 1500 lb, heavily dressed or naked...sure, I'd recognize him anywhere!

Interesting. But as far as potential life on this world is concerned, we do have to take into account that it's in a binary star system where orbits are notoriously unstable....

Not in stable binary systems, which appears to be the case here. The orbits you're likely referring to are those seen during the formation of the multi-star system.
